South Florida is feeling the fallout from last week’s theft of millions of email addresses from a Texas marketing firm. The hacking of a Dallas-based marketing firm, which exposed millions of email addresses to potential misuse, has raised the concerns of various security experts who now think unwary consumers will fall for scams in their inboxes. Don’t respond to emails asking for sensitive financial information. You’ve probably heard by now about the security breach at Epsilon that resulted in the theft of email addresses. While that may not seem like a big deal, people with fraudulent intentions can use those addresses to further their evil doing. Companies tell customers of incident at marketing company Epsilon Over the weekend, Todd Thibodeaux received emails from two companies saying his email address was accessed without permission. Nicholas Percoco woke up to three such emails.
