How Internet Scams Make Money

Let’s define what an internet scam is. It is a worldwide defrauding scheme by greedy and dishonest people who gain the confidence of their victims to get their money.

Your inbox probably receives several internet scams every week. Hopefully, thanks to your spam folder you can just delete them, but not always.

Let me tell you how internet scams make money.

1. They will first send you an email telling you are entitled to receive some great amlunt of money for winning an electronic raffle done by their company. Or one rich dying man who wants to give his riches to a grandson but the grandson needs you to be the guarantor.

When you receive a mail like this the first time you will be surprised and that big money is making your mind dizzy with the possibility of really holding it with your bare hands and you know it is yours. Beware. This is the same feeling many people have when they were almost conned.

2. Then you will reply immediately claiming that you want the prize or the inheritance money. This is their cue to know that they should start gaining your confidence.

They will say words to actually convince you of claiming your prize or the money they want to give you. This is a stage where you must search the internet for the names and phone numbers they are giving you. See if that someone exists or if that company exists.

3. Their next mail will give you choices to further make up your mind to get your money. They will give you four choices:

A. You will go to their place and get the money.

B. You will pay about 20% of the amount through credit card for the said “clearing fee” and the money will be delivered to you personally by an agent.

C. You will go their place and pay the clearing fee and you get the money personally. Their place is always from another far off country so you will have to spend more and choose the second option.

D. You will pay for the clearing fee and the agent to deliver the money right at your door step.

4. As you can see, all the options add up to you paying them for the delivery of the money to you. If you are wise you will not fall for this scam. There is not a single assurance that your “prize or inheritance” will be given to you.

Think in legal terms. If someone is a stranger, and would like to give you some amount of money, they will consult an attorney perhaps to talk directly to you and not through email. Don’t even think of giving them your money when you have a hint that it’s a money making internet scam.

Paula Gloria follows up on thousands of dollars lost by her friend’s college age daughter…and discovers that the FBI overlooks fraud on the internet. Maybe Paula can get her impostor problems solved too… From the mother of the college age daughter: There is a lot of information on the internet about sublet scams. I just wish that we would have read it before this happened. A woman, named Paige C. wrote a good description of this scam for a college paper. You can find it at www.associatedcontent.com/article/28760/my_story_of_internet_fraud_and_scams.html, or by searching on Google for sublet scam or scams. Janet After the stream Paula Gloria got this message from the phone call she placed on this vid: IC3 Inquiry Dear Mrs. Gloria, I received your voice message today. I forwarded it to the IC3 Manager who would like to set up an appointment to talk with you. He was hoping sometime tomorrow afternoon would be good for you. He will be available between 1pm and 2:30 pm eastern time to call you if that is convenient. Please reply and let me know. Also if you could provide me with a few details as to what information you are looking for from him, and what you would like to accomplish, that would be helpful. Sincerely, Lisa The internet fraud complaint center is 800 251-7581, the site for a report and information is www.ic3.gov On today’s stream (July 8, 2008) Paula Gloria will call her old business partner, Buk Lhu, who was a partner in a bank recently sold to a chain to …

7 Lifesaving Tips That No One Wants You to Know About Online Scams

Are you being frustrated, cheated and broke to find a way to create a brighter future for you
and those you care about… without cheating or stealing from others? I have! That’s why I will give you 7 dirty tips that will guarantee you will never face online scams again!

Lets cut it straight to the point:

* first tip: Don’t ever buy high priced products that claims to make 6-figure income at the very first time you see them! It’s all designed to “suck the life” out of you!

*second tip: Look at their Design! If it’s like a “paradise” , you dreams will be smashed against the wall and your wallet sucked like vacuum cleaner on steroids!

*third tip: There’s no such thing as a “Pre-Launch” and you shouldn’t pay a dime for it! Forget all the garbage about you having an “advantage”… the exact same emails promoting the BiG “Pre-Launch” went to tens of thousands of other “names and email addresses” on Guru lists. You are just “another” ATM machine…

*forth tip: If you ever join the program that ask you to invest few bucks and they double it… then just remember this… the Internet can’t create money from “nothing”…

*fifth tip: Never join another program that doesn’t help to promote your primary business! If you are creating another “multiple source of income”, I warn You, it can be easily turned into “multiple source of expenses”. Success requires focus and you can’t succeed by splitting your time and energy by promoting two or more several businesses. Your advertising “resources” are limited…

*sixth tip: Why would you believe that Guru is going to provide tons of leads or targeted traffic for just a few bucks? Why would someone give you something that worth thousands of dollars? Why…

*seventh tip: Just remember this… any legitimate program requires WORK!

Thats it, Guru’s will tell you everything you want to hear… whether it’s true or not.

Avoiding the Ever Growing Online Scam Websites

Online scam. Everywhere you look today in the Internet, you see offers and ads from websites that claim will make you rich. They are everywhere, it almost seems to be a plague. If their numbers are that great, than it can only mean that the number of victims are just as much. If there weren’t that many victims for them, they wouldn’t have such a great number and those websites would have long shut down. The fact is, those websites use a great deal of methods and techniques to trick their victims. Unprepared visitors to those websites, turn into victims at an alarming rate. But it isn’t the victims fault for getting tricked. It is just that those online scam websites use quite a few psychological methods to confuse their visitors.

Based on my years of experience in this field, I will explain some of the techniques and methods that those websites use, in order to trick the unsuspecting visitor. One of the methods that those websites use, is using pictures, and fake pictures of money accounts. They try to entice their visitors by placing pictures of their accounts, which contain a huge amount of money. They claim that they made all that money by using the methods or products that they are trying to sell to their visitor. They may sometimes show visitors that they were able to make hundreds of thousands each month. They do this to get their visitors excited.

When some people look at how much someone else is earning using one method, they themselves believe that they will also be able to make just as much, or even more if they used the same method. This is a psychological attack that those websites use to bring out peoples greed. This will lead to those people believing or wanting to believe that the product will work for them. Although this method doesn’t work on everyone, it does work on quite a few people. What many people don’t realize, is that many of those websites will create a fake picture of their accounts. With the graphic softwares available today, creating your own or editing a picture is fairly simple, which contributes to this methods widespread use.

Another method that almost all of those online scam websites uses, is using testimonials. They will usually place those testimonials at the front page of their website to gain more attention. Testimonials are letters or signs of approval from other users who have bought the program and are successful because of it. This method places a sense of calmness in the visitor, and makes them even more willing to buy the product. The problem is that most websites misuse this. A testimonial can be easily created by anyone. Many websites create their own testimonial and trick visitors by placing someone else’s name on it.

They will also place a different location for each one, and many will use locations from around the world, such as Kenya, China or even Cuba. They use these locations to give their visitors the feeling that their product can work for them no matter where they are. It is difficult to determine whether or not a testimonial is real or not. But a mistake by many of those amateurs does make spotting those fake testimonials easier. Most amateur use only one or two short sentences in their testimonials. Although it doesn’t actually confirm that it is a fake, it does show that it has a high probability of being a fake. If that program really did make those people a lot of money and change their lives, they wouldn’t have just written a short testimonial thanking that website.

Another method that many of those online scam websites use, is free gifts and promotions. This method has really become so popular that almost every websites are offering them nowadays. Most of these websites will claim that if you were to act quickly and buy from them now, you would get a huge discount. Many will even claim that you would get a 50% discount. They use this method to give people a sense of urgency in buying their product. The thing that many people don’t realize, is that most, if not all of these offers are just decorations there that are meant to entice them. Almost all of the websites will claim that the offer is only valid for the next 50 people or it will only last until the end of the day.

But the truth is that those so called discounts will still be there even after six months. Another method those websites use along with the discount method is the free gift method. Often enough, many websites will throw in a couple or more of free gifts. They will claim that the product you are getting is worth ten times the amount you are actually paying. This again is to give their visitors the urgency to buy. But many people also don’t realize that most free gifts a products that the website have created themselves, or products that has very little value. In worse cases, many people never did receive their free gifts. The websites will claim that their stock has just finished, or they will just ignore you completely.

Although there are other methods and techniques that those online scam websites uses, these are the most popular and the easiest to detect for a visitor. Using just one method alone will not bring those websites a high amount of victims. But using all of these methods can sometimes produce shocking results. The best way for not becoming a victim to those websites is to learn and understand the methods they use as well as well as understanding what works, and what doesn’t. Always try to see the logic in their approach.

How To Stay Away from Making Money Online Scams

There are several websites available online and also several experts ready to share their secrets to make money online from the comfort of home with Niche Marketing. You can discover their secrets for a pay and free to copy the same success they have.

Sounds great to hear! But the fact, it tells the opposite to what is expected. Because 9 out of 10 individuals who paid them, hoping for finding out their techniques, were fall into these scams of get-rich-quick programs. The scams continue to make big money online because people are eager to know and believe that these experts really assist them to be successful online.

After the so many bad experiences of falling into the online scams, you might find it hard to convince yourself about an existence of an honest Niche Marketing programs online, where a real expert come into your help to make money online. Don’t lost faith because there are still many legitimate programs available. They offer legitimate courses by real experts who can help you make money online at a realistic approach and give you a real advice that is workable for you. Just be selective with caution in mind.

Here are the following tips that will help you easily determine a get-rich-quick program:

1. You will get a link that directs you to other website, demanding you more money to pay.
2. You can’t find any contact information from them.
3. You can’t get any technical support.
4. The links provided to you are not working.

So, instead of acquiring a get-rich-quick program, you are like acquiring a get-poor-quick program.

The sellers with credibility will all the time provide you the necessary contact information available for your use. They are not afraid of giving you the real contact information because they can withstand the quality of their services and won’t expect any problem communicating with you personally. A real internet marketer will always be transparent to their customers as much as possible in order to develop a good image and invites more loyal customers.

It’s also visible to them, their program satisfaction guarantee policy. You can take their program in a trial period basis in order to prove to you that their claims are true, especially their claim that they can help you make a decent money online from their support.

Take time also to investigate the background of an internet marketer who offers you a paid service. Consider the following points in your background check:
1. Proof of their earnings
2. How they really achieve their success?
3. What made them known as an expert?

Lastly, consider knowing the customer reviews about the program you are more likely to purchase. Read customer testimonials or feedback that are scattered around the internet. From these information, you can make a sound decision whether it’s real and giving you as what it promised.

Remember always that there’s no overnight success to make a big amount of money online as what most of the get-rich-quick scam programs are promising you. Instead put time to investigate the program by following the advices presented above.

Secrets you should know to protect yourself from Online scams

If prostitution is the world’s oldest profession, then confidence art is the second oldest. Confidence art is the occupation of the con artist.

The internet has opened a whole new avenue for scam artists. Online scams are projects designed to steal your money via the interenet. One good way to protect yourself is to get acquainted with as many scams as you can, so that you don’t fall prey.

In one popular scam, the con hacks into your email through a chain letter or a suspect attachment. An email is sent to you, prompting you to open a certain attachment, download free software like smileys, or forward mail.

The mild version of this scam is that the con uses your email to send spam to everyone in your address book. It is usually something benign, like an advert for a service or product. The email addresses your contacts by name, then claims that you, the sender, are providing or endorsing the item or product.

Your contact, seeing your name, will assume the product comes from you and may unwittingly purchase it. Because the email addresses them by their name or nickname, which the hacker has obtained from your address book, the recipient will think the mail is genuine.

In a more malicious version of this scam, the con will send a distress call to everyone in your contact list. The will claim that you, the sender, are in some kind of trouble. It may say that you are stuck in airport and have lost all your money.

The scam mail will then ask your acquaintances to send some money to bail you out of your fix. It will usually give a bank account, phone number, or some other method of receiving the money.

Your friends, relatives and colleagues will probably be very worried about you and will send the money to the said account. It may be days, weeks, or even months before they bump into you and ask you about the money.

The main way to beat this scam is to change your password often, so that even if crooks access your mailbox, they will not be able to use it for very long. Also, you should regularly check your Sent mail folder to be sure that all the mails going out are mails that have been sent by you.

Finally. Never open attachments from strangers. And if you receive a distress call, before you send any money, phone the person to make sure they are the ones who sent it.
